My true being is unborn and changeless. I am the Lord who dwells in every creature.Through the power of my own maya, I manifest myself in a finite form.

Whenever dharma declines an the purpose of life is forgotten, I manifest myself on earth. I am born in every age to protect the good, to destroy evil, and to reestablish dharma.
Sri Krishna, Bhagavad Gita tr. Easwaran

Today every progressive mind acknowledges the value of the various spiritual traditions of the earth. The Goldren Rule, the “Greatest Commandment” is known to have be taught by every spiritual teacher in recorded history. For the most part the developed world has decided that divers traditions of belief must coexist peacefully, and in many parts of the world this is almost a fully realized practice. In a time when the world is scarred by conflicts originating from cultural and religious differences, where ethnic cleansing – though largely ignored in the developed world – is a continuing fact of life for many people, and a world war is being fought over seemingly irreconcilable ideologies, only the most jaded or ignorant of people can deny the ultimate necessity of unity for a continuing future of civilization.

164 years ago a man came and predicted this. He said that mankind would soon face an unprecedented era of division and chaos, that this chaos was inevitable. He explained that only a unity as large as the world could prevent the worst of the coming times; though many had come too far down the road of destruction for the prevention of those tribulations to be fully avoided.

This man came to a nation with an illustrious heritage, a long forgotten heritage. This nation was wrought between the despotic nobility, the scheming clergy, and the corrupted government. Since then revolutions and juntas have failed to reinstate any sort of order; almost two centuries later the citizens remain playthings of a trident of corruption, tyranny and extremism.
